| − | Well, you got it wrong on some parts - JavaFX is mostly a spilme language for Java 2D, swing is not the target. Although it can use swing. So swing related things are a little unrelated.- Groovy is a java wannabe, dreaming to replace it without much hope. groovy only simplifies some' swing developement, it does not really do much on java2d. JavaFX is more like a minion, has no intention to replace Java . IMHO, it's syntax should be revised tough..- The real problem is still the runtime startup time, deployment problems, resource usage, lack of well defined animation multimedia libraries and a designer GUI designer for java 2D stuff.. JRE size is not a big deal. But JavaFX does not deserve this bashing.
