Special event - Helma Workshop

• When: Monday, November 9th, 2009 - 7pm
• Where: Freihaus HS4, Wiedner Hauptstraße 8

Diesen Montag findet ein Workshop ueber das Javascript basierte Web-Framework Helma statt. Bei Helma wird die gesamte Logik der Web-Applikation in Javascript geschrieben, welches dann auf einem Server ( Jetty/Tomcat/etc. ) in Servlets konvertiert wird.

Man koennte Helma auch das "Ruby on Rails der Javascript-Welt" nennen.

Da wir leider den FH HS4 nicht bekommen konnten, gibt es fuer dieses Event eine Teilnehmerbeschraenkung von 15 Personen. Anmeldung Erforderlich unter dominik.dorn (at) jsug.at bis spaetestens Mo. 7.11.09 12:00

Hannes hat geantwortet:

• Helma uses a pretty simple object locking protocol in which only one thread can modify an object, but reads are unprotected.
• The other thread can read the dirty object, but it can't write it. If two threads try to modify the same object, the second one throws an exception and the request is retried after some random interval (possibly multiple times).
• What do you mean by synchronized? Generally, the same rule applies - you can have multiple readers, but updates and refreshes are synchronized.
